Tabs for Dulcimer: Amazing Grace & Other Hymns

Someone years ago introduced me to the dulcimer – both the mountain dulcimer as well as the hammered dulcimer. To this day, a recording of hammered dulcimer hymns is still one of my favorite instrumental recordings.

I know several of you play the dulcimer for your church ministries, and perhaps others are contemplating picking it up.

The following are several internet resources to easily find the sheet music to play on your dulcimer.

Great Christian Audio Links

One day I was just needing some extra refreshment/ rejuvenation. God allowed the opportunity for an individual at that point to send me a link connecting to spiritually encouraging songs.

If you enjoy Christian music, I know you will appreciate these. The following are particularly chosen for soothing, calm music. You can add these to you YouTube channel as well or visit ConservativeChristianMusic’s YouTube channel for a playlist.

fyi – These can also be used as offertories, specials, preludes/postludes, etc.

What Wondrous Love Is This – Hymn with Contemplative Meaning

This hymn is often little-known in our circles; however, I believe its message is one worthy of mention.

The following are the words to the first verse:

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

Wow! – Impactful . . . Right?

(For music theory aficionados, this is a hymn written in the dorian mode.)

This is a perennial favorite, and apparently from Google search, it is also liked by many, many other individuals. 😉

This would work great for your choir, small group, orchestra, etc.

Bonus: for music lovers – this is a neat arrangement of it – performed by strings and vocal.

Teach Me Thy Way by Benjamin Ramsey

Several years ago, I heard this piece sung.  The words are phenomenal!

“Teach me Thy way, O Lord,
Teach me Thy way!
Thy guiding grace afford
Teach me Thy way!”

The tune is very fitting for the words.  Beautifully written.
