The Seven Last Words of Christ

This post contains music of a different genre than typically posted here; however, I know many of you are familiar with this work and will appreciate and/ or reminisce on it.

I am so appreciative of Mr. Dubois’ portrayal of Christ’s atoning sacrifice for our sins.

One of the phrase of this music that sticks with me is the quote of “He is death, guilty. He is death, guilty.” Wow! People whom Christ LOVED were throwing those accusations at Him.

Bible Verses Put to Music: Blessed Is the Man

I love this song and the truth contained therein (and likewise the passage from whence it comes).  It’s great!

This would work great for youth group, children’s choir, adult choir, and congregational.

Blessed is the man that walketh not

in the counsel of the ungodly,

nor standeth in the way of sinners,

nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD;

and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

Thanksgiving Songs – Newer Selections – for Choir

Here are some choir pieces with which you may be unfamiliar, yet are great modern-day compositions.

Incredible!  Tune is Finlandia.  (Same tune as “Be Still My Soul.”)  Wonderful piece.

You will love the words of praise to God through this song!  Reminds me of Psalm 136.  Tune is familiar.  Amazing piece!

Great words to this piece of music.  Easy for your choir to sing.  Can also be used as a youth choir work.
